Newsflash: Renters’ Rights Act Information Sheet Released

The UK Government has today released the official Renters’ Rights Act 2026 Information Sheet, and all landlords are now required to provide this document to their tenants, who are in existing tenancies on 01 May 2026.

This is a legal obligation, and the document must be served within a strict compliance window:

📅 01 May – 31 May 2026

Failure to provide the information sheet within this timeframe, to relevant tenants, could result in penalties of up to £7,000, so it is essential that landlords take action now.

What Landlords Need to Do

If you use a managing agent:
You should contact your agent as soon as possible to confirm if and how they will be issuing the information sheet on your behalf and ensure this forms part of their compliance process.

If you are a self-managing landlord:
You must ensure you fully understand your responsibilities around serving this document correctly and within the required timeframe.
